Saudia Cargo has been awarded the Stat Times International Award for Excellence in Air Cargo at a ceremony held in Mumbai on 5 February. The award, presented during the Air Cargo India 2014 event in Mumbai was granted for the category of Fastest Growing International Cargo Airline of the Year in an online nomination process conducted by Stat Times.
The Saudia Cargo team, headed by VP Commercial Peter Scholten, accepted the award on behalf of the airline. Also present were: Naif Alassaf, Senior Specialist Events, Nassar Alahmadi, Director Global Sales, Fahad Alzahrani, Senior Specialist Corporate Communications, Basem Alzahrani Executive Cargo Charter Flights Sales, and Keku Gazder Director Indian Sub-Continent.
“We are very proud to have won this award from a leading magazine in India, one of the world’s key markets for air cargo,” said Peter Scholten, VP Commercial at Saudia Cargo. “Since the inception of Saudia Cargo in 2009, our volumes have doubled and in 2013 we surpassed all records set in 2012 by exceeding revenue and volume by 6% and 8% respectively. This is another industry recognition of our achievements,” he concluded.
Organized by The Stat Trade Times, a monthly publication catering to the needs of aviation and air cargo industries worldwide, the award encourages the promotion of excellence in the air cargo industry. This is the third consecutive year in which Saudia Cargo has been honored, having been named International Cargo Airline of the Year in Africa in 2013 and International Cargo Airline of the Year (Runner Up) in 2012.
