Turkish Airlines, Europe’s best airline*, hosted its first annual ceremony in Kuwait to honour corporate partners for their contribution to the global airline’s rapid growth in the country and wider Gulf region.
The celebratory gala evening, held at the Sheraton in Kuwait City, was attended by Turkish Airlines senior officials who recognised corporate partners for their continual support as the leading carrier eyes significant growth from the region this year.
Mr Sami Aydogan, General Manager for Turkish Airlines in Kuwait, said: “We are delighted to honour our valued corporate partners at this first annual ceremony and gala dinner. Our reputation as one of the world’s fastest growing airlines reflects the pace at which our services evolve. Our partners are integral to promoting these enhanced services, ensuring we meet the demand of their customers.”
Adem Ceylan, Vice President Marketing & Sales for Turkish Airlines, Middle East & Cyprus, said: “We are proud to offer connections to more countries than any other airline in the world. In line with the vision to make Istanbul a global aviation hub, Turkish Airlines will continue to extend its network, increase its market share across all regions and continue to contribute to Turkey’s development with 20 new destinations being added to its network in 2014. ”
During the summer season the flights from Kuwait to Istanbul are set to increase from 4 to 9 daily to accommodate the increased passenger demand over the peak holiday season. This builds on passenger growth from Kuwait which was recorded as a 35 per cent increase in 2013 compared to the same period in 2012.
Guests at the gala evening were updated on Turkish Airlines award-winning services including new business class seats, the extended Istanbul lounge, ‘Flying Chef,’ ‘Miles&Smiles’ loyalty programme, and ‘TourIstanbul,’ in addition to upcoming campaigns such as Ramadan in Istanbul and the Istanbul Shopping Festival.
With the latest announcement of Catania as the 8th destination served in Italy, Turkish Airlines now flies to 251 destinations across an impressive 106 countries. Turkish Airlines offers more flights to the Middle East from Europe than any other airline, covering 14 countries and 34 destinations in the region.
