Abu Dhabi International expects 20 million passengers this year
Tony Douglas, the chief executive of state-owned Abu Dhabi Airports Company said that Abu Dhabi International is expecting to handle 20 million passengers this year, Zawya has reported. That will be up about 20% on last year and driven by the growth of state-owned Etihad Airways. Passenger traffic at Abu Dhabi International Airport jumped 19.4% from a year earlier to 9.48mn people in the first half of this year as the emirate expanded its route network to the rest of the world, the airport’s operator said last week. Traffic is expected to be higher still in the second half, Ahmad al-Haddabi, chief operations officer at Abu Dhabi Airports, said in a statement.
