Boeing participates in Qatar Aeronautical College Career Fair
As part of its commitment to engaging with the community and empowering the country’s youth, representatives of The Boeing Company participated in the annual Qatar Aeronautical College Career Fair, which took place in Doha. Wael Zaoud, Boeing Defense, Space & Security director of business development for the Middle East, who sits in Doha, was on-site to provide students with the latest information and trends in the aerospace industry and an overview of the wide range of aerospace careers at Boeing. Showcasing the company’s prowess in the industry, students were also able to watch on-display videos of Boeing Commercial Airplane products currently in use by Qatar Airways, including the 777 and 787 Dreamliner.
Boeing’s participation at the career fair is part of the company’s ongoing and longstanding relationship with Qatar Aeronautical College. Earlier this year, Boeing partnered with the college to provide a group of Qatari youths firsthand insights into the science behind aviation and history at the Al Khor Fly-In, which displayed interactive educational programs at the Al-Khor Airport in Qatar. Other events the two companies have partnered on include lectures and informational tours to Boeing facilities in Seattle.
“Our goal here, which is the same as when Boeing participates in recruiting events and career fairs at college campuses globally, is to help inspire young people to pursue future careers in the sciences or aerospace,” Zaoud said. “At Boeing, we recognize that our company’s strength and our competitive advantage is and always will be its people. We always look for opportunities to identify and attract skilled, motivated and diverse talent to our ranks. This event with Qatar Aeronautical provided us with just that opportunity.”
Qatar Aeronautical College was founded in 1975 as the Civil Aviation College of the Gulf States, and is now the Gulf region’s leading provider of training for the aviation industry, offering full-time, approved courses for Pilots, Aircraft Maintenance Engineers, Air Traffic Controllers, Meteorologists, Airport Operations Management Personnel and Flight Dispatchers, as well as short courses in a wide variety of aviation-related disciplines.
