Oman Air shortlisted for two leading travel industry awards
Oman Air, the national airline of the Sultanate of Oman, has been shortlisted for two major UK travel trade awards: the TTG Travel Awards 2014 and the Travel Agents Choice Awards 2014.
The TTG Travel Awards is one of the most prestigious and highly respected travel industry awards, with applications and nominations representing a large array of companies and market leaders. Award categories range from ‘Airline of the Year’, in which Oman Air has been named as a finalist, to Business Travel Agency of the Year. The winners will be announced at a ceremony held on 15th September 2014 at the Lyceum Theatre, in London’s West End.
Oman Air has also been nominated as a finalist in the ‘Airline to the Middle East’ category of The Travel Agents Choice Awards, which are organised by Selling Travel publishers BMI Publishing. In this unique award, contenders are nominated and voted for entirely by UK travel retailers. Oman Air is up against the best of the best, so to reach the later stage of the process and to be acknowledged is an achievement in itself. Voting closes on October 8th and will be published online on October 15th, with the awards themselves being presented during World Travel Market in November.
Abdulrahman Al-Busaidy, Chief Operating Officer of Oman Air, expressed the airline’s delight at the nominations, saying:
“We are extremely pleased and honoured to reach the final stages of two highly respected UK trade awards. Oman Air has built its international reputation on the quality of our products and services, and travel retailers’ faith in our products and services is testament to the high quality we offer to both our customers and business partners.”
Oman Air has already received a number of prestigious awards throughout 2014. In January 2014, American Express Executive Travel magazine named Oman Air as the second best airline in the world, in May 2014 the World Travel Awards named the airline Middle East’s Leading Airline Business Class and Middle East’s Leading Airline Economy Class, and in June 2014 Business Insider listed Oman Air in the top ten of its World’s Best Airlines 2014 list, in recognition of the quality of its Economy Class service. Furthermore, in July 2014, the World Airline Awards presented Oman Air with the Best Staff Service, Middle East award and listed the airline as a finalist in nine other categories at a glittering ceremony held at the Farnborough Air Show in the UK.
