Shurooq to promote Sharjah’s tourism and investment potential at ATM 2014
The Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) is rounding up preparations for its participation in the Arabian Travel Market (ATM 2014), which will take place at the Dubai International Exhibition and Convention Centre from the 5th to the 8th of May 2014.
Shurooq’s participation, which falls under the umbrella of Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA), will focus on showcasing the range of world-class projects that they are currently developing in Sharjah. Shurooq delegation will hold meetings with representatives of travel agencies and leisure operators to discus avenues of cooperation and explore investment opportunities available in the emirate’s tourism and leisure sector.
Commenting on the Authority’s upcoming participation, HE Marwan bin Jassim Al Sarkal, CEO of Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), said, “The Arabian Travel Market (ATM 2014 has become one of the world’s most important platforms for the tourism, travel and leisure industry. Our participation for the fifth consecutive year in ATM comes in line with Shurooq’s ongoing efforts to make use of this opportunity to network with major tourism stakeholders in order to promote its various tourist destinations and highlight the emirate’s tourist attractions and offerings, especially with the tourism sector is now in focus.”
Al Sarkal pointed out that Shurooq will unveil new details about its future projects, and will also launch a new tourism initiative to promote Sharjah’s burgeoning tourism sector, at its Stand in ATM 2014.
Shurooq CEO went on to say, “We will be undertaking an extensive schedule of meetings with other participating delegations as well as representatives from hotels, travel agencies, leisure operators, and investors from this region and beyond, to explore and discuss joint ventures and possible collaborations, as well as to showcase what Sharjah can offer to both regional and international visitors and tourists.”
He reaffirmed Shurooq’s commitment to continuous growth and development in all facets of its operations and projects, adding that: “Participating in local and international events such as ATM give us an opportunity to expand our skill sets, experience, and expertise in a range of leisure and tourism fields.”
