ADNH appoints new Group Director of HR

In his capacity as Group Director of HR, Newnham will lead the Human Resources department in recruiting, retaining, developing and training people within ADNH businesses and corporate departments.

said Newnham.

ADNH CEO Richard Riley noted that the company aims to strengthen its human resources by bringing on board accomplished professionals.

“With his vast experience and knowledge, Mike Newnham is a significant addition to our management team. We are pleased to have him on board and we look forward to his contributions to boosting ADNH’s stature as an employer of choice,” Riley said.

Prior to joining ADNH, Newnham spent the last year as Head of Consulting and Training at Jumeirah Group’s Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management.

He joined Jumeirah Group in 2000 as Head of HR where he oversaw the development of the company’s HR practices and provided support in the positioning of Jumeirah Group as an attractive and exciting company to work for.

Newnham started his international career with Hyatt International, holding various positions in Training and Human Resources within the Asia Pacific region.

In 1991, Newnham was appointed Director at Training Services Asia, a Singapore-based Training and Human Resources Consultancy.

He joined Bass Hotels and Resorts (now Intercontinental Hotels Group) in Hong Kong in 1995 as Director of Training and Development for Asia Pacific region.

A holder of Master’s degree in Training from the University of Leicester, UK, Newnham is now studying for a Doctorate in Social Sciences with the university.

Newnham also serves as an Associate Tutor in Dubai for the University of Leicester’s distance learning Masters Programmes in Human Resources Management.

He is an Excellence Assessor, certified by the European Foundation of Quality Management, a Fellow of the Australian Human Resources Institute (FAHRI) and a member of the Institute of Hospitality (formerly HCIMA).
