Bonhams appoints Guy Vesey as Middle Eastern Regional Director

Guy has extensive experience of the art world, and of the emerging markets of both Russia and the Middle East. His diverse background includes experience of Art Consultancy, Galleries and Dealerships. After time spent working for the Art Dealer Michael Carr in Sydney, Australia he moved to London to join Simon C. Dickinson Ltd where he worked largely in Russia and the former CIS region. He also spent time in Kazakhstan working as a consultant for a Kazakh oligarch.

One of his most significant achievements was the founding of Carrvesey Ltd – the first Western Art Consultancy in Moscow since the revolution. Whilst working as a Director of this operation he conducted sales negotiations with collections to a value of $250million. He also developed numerous professional relationships with international dealers, artists, curators and collectors.

During his career he has also undertaken a period of personal study at the State Hermitage Museum in St Petersburg.

For the past year he has been based in Saudi Arabia and Beirut where he developed his Arabic language skills and gained important working knowledge of the Middle East.
