Microsoft announces operational restructuring and leadership changes in line with expansion in the region

These changes reflect Microsoft’s long-term commitment and renewed focus on enhancing the development of IT infrastructure in both countries.

Subsequent to this announcement, two key leadership roles were announced. Mr. Tareq Hijazi was announced as Regional Country Manager for the new sub-region. Mr. Badea Esbai, was announced as Regional Manager for Microsoft’s Small and Medium Solutions and Partner Group.

In his new role, Tareq will lead the overall strategy, business operations and outreach for the company in both countries. Prior to assuming this post, Tareq was managing the commercial business of Microsoft in the UAE. Tareq joined Microsoft in 2001 and has played several roles with Microsoft Jordan and Microsoft Gulf. He was recently awarded the Microsoft Chairman’s Award, Microsoft’s highest form of recognition reflecting his invaluable contribution to Microsoft’s business in the region.

Mr. Esbai will focus on overseeing Microsoft’s Small & Medium Business strategy to deliver strong revenue growth for Microsoft and its partners as well as creating a loyal channel for Microsoft products across the Gulf.
