Zighy Bay welcomes prestigious chefs from Europe

Paco will stay until 9 April whilst Kristian will remain at the resort until 18 April.

Zighy Bay will also be welcoming back the three star Michelin French chef, Pierre Gagnaire, after his first visit to the resort proved enormously popular.

The famous chefs will work in the Zighy Bay kitchens, alongside the Zighy Bay culinary team to offer diners a delicious mix of culinary delights which will combine European and Arabic influences.

On 5 and 7 April, Zighy Bay’s signature restaurant, Sense on the Edge, will be offering two special degustation menus exclusively put together by Paco Torreblanco and Zighy Bay Executive Chef, Gerald Bergue.

On 21 April Sense on the Edge will welcome diners to enjoy a seven course degustation dinner, the menu will be created and prepared by Pierre Gagnaire and Gerald Bergue with the assistance of the Zighy Bay chefs. To give diners more of an insight into the wines chosen to accompany their meal, French wine maker, Pascal Jolivet will giving a presentation and degustation on wine.

For those guests interested in re-creating the delicious dishes in the comfort of their own homes, Pierre Gagnaire and awarded chef Ali Saloum, Zighy Bay’s resident Arabic chef, will be hosting a cookery class on 22 April at 13.00. The French and Arabic chefs will be fusing their cuisines to teach participating students how to cook some of the wonderful food on offer during April at Zighy Bay.

Commenting on the imminent visit of the European chefs, Zighy Bay assistant food and Beverage Manager, Susanne Kraus, said:

Kraus continued, “The menus that will be on offer during their visit will doubtless prove extremely popular with our guests and diners. This is Pierre Gagnaire’s second visit to Zighy Bay, his first visit was so well-received that there was great demand to get him back again and we are delighted that he is able visit us again next month. April promises to be a gastronomic extravaganza and we look forward to welcoming guests and local diners to Zighy Bay to enjoy it.”
