Microsoft Kuwait recently made software donation to Kuwait’s Women’s Cultural and Social Society (WCSS) in support of promoting women’s rights and legal empowerment in State of Kuwait for the “Warcati Project”. Microsoft provided the “Warcati Project” with Sharepoint platform which helps increase collaboration, productivity and efficiency. Sharepoint will allow the WCSS to organise their work with task lists and project timelines, while also enabling them to share documents within or outside of the organization with a single click. Through this donation, women from the society will receive access to the latest Microsoft technology that will in return, enhance their abilities to achieve their mission.

The “Warcati Project” reviews laws and judicial practices that affect women’s rights and hinder their full participation in public life in Kuwait. A rights-based approach has been utilized to collect and analyze relevant laws and audit practices with the view to introducing the necessary legal reform, and ultimately ensure adequate protection for women.

Commenting on the donation, Charles Nahas Microsoft Kuwait General Manager, said: “At Microsoft, we believe technology can do amazing things such as supporting community initiatives. That’s why we partner with thousands of organizations around the world to help each one achieve its mission. We are happy to assist the “Warcati Project” with this donation which will make a difference and allow the society to benefit from the technology. Through our Microsoft Kuwait Citizenship efforts, we provide technology tools, training and resources that can help create opportunities and transform communities.”

“This is a very important donation for our organisation, we thank Microsoft for the software donation which will help enhance and upgrade our infrastructure. With the implementation of Sharepoint and the other software donations, the “Warcati Project” can certainly assist us in achieving our vision and mission in the long term,” said Lulwa Saleh Al Mulla, Chairperson of the Board and Head of Social Program, from Kuwait’s Women’s Cultural and Social Society.

Microsoft Kuwait empowers NGOs to help realize their vision, and increase productivity in the future. In addition to the donation, Microsoft Kuwait also offered the “Warcati Project” other resources, tips and tools to help them work more efficiently and effectively to help them reach their desired goal.
