$105m contract awarded for Dubai water canal project

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has awarded China State Corp a Dhs384m ($105m) contract for the second phase of the Dubai Water Canal Project comprising the construction of bridges across the canal on Al Wasl and Jumeirah Roads. The contract of involves the construction of bridges on Al Wasl and Jumeirah Roads above the Dubai Water Canal, and a free and integrated multi-tier interchange to provide a traffic link between Al Wasl, Al Hadiqa and Al Athar Roads after the project completion to replace the existing light signals, RTA chairman and executive director, Mattar Al Tayer, said. Works on Phase II are set for completion in the fourth quarter of 2016, he said.
