250.000 low cost housing units to be built in Iraq

Mayor of Baghdad revealed that premier Nouri al-Maliki ordered to have contracts with 20 specialized companies to build 250.000 low cost housing units in Iraq, Aswat ala-Iraq reported. The units shall be within the national initiative to build low cost housing units, he added. Mayor Naeem Ab’oub al-Ka’bi elaborated that 50.000 units shall be built in Baghdad and the rest in different Iraqi provinces. Earlier, an exhibition was opened for the low cost housing designs submitted by 36 international companies.
