Bahrain Works Minister inspects E6 Sanitary Project in East Riffa

In response to HRH the Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa’s directives to expedite the implementation of all projects affecting people’s everyday lives, HE the Minister of Works Eng. Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf toured the E6 Sanitary Project in East Riffa, accompanied by Sanitary Engineering Assistant Undersecretary Eng. Khalifa Al Mansoor, Sanitary Engineering Planning & Projects Director Eng. Asma Murad and representatives from the consulting company supervising the project Watson Khonji.

Khalaf explained that the visit aims to closely follow-up project implementation and meet both the contractor and consultant to inspect progress in the project. The first part of the project (southern part) covers Blocks 903 & 909, while the second northern part covers Blocks 901, 903 & 905. Both parts comprise of implementing a secondary sewerage network, main inspection chambers, sub-network and sub inspection chambers, house connections, re-asphalting works and related works. Pumping stations and related works are to be implemented by the project contractor.

The Ministry, in collaboration with the main contractor, had already begun work in location 6 weeks ago; due for completion in the first quarter of 2015.

Phase E6 of the project; covering Blocks 901, 903, 905 and 909, is being implemented at a cost of BD6.8m. Works include implementing 39km long main and sub sewerage pipes, and 7 pumping and lifting stations. 64 real estates have already been connected to the network, while work is still underway to connect another 12 houses.
