Belhasa awarded Phase 3 deal of Dubai Canal

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has awarded Belhasa Six Construct Co a Dhs802m contract to for the implementation of ‘Phase 3’ of the Dhs2bn Dubai Water Canal (DWC) project, Khaleej Times has reported. Phase 3 covers the drilling of the water canal, constructing sides of the canal, constructing three footbridges linking the two banks of the canal, and constructing four marine transit stations to boost the role of marine transport – particularly after the completion of the construction of a number of islands in the Arabian Gulf such as The World Islands and Jumeirah 2 Islands. Work on the project will start by June and is expected to finish by September 2016.
