Egypt to coordinate with banks to provide 8,000 affordable housing units

Egypt’s housing ministry has said it will coordinate with a number of local lenders to make 8,000 housing units available to low- and middle-income Egyptians, Daily News Egypt has reported. The ministry is already building 100,000 housings units housing units for low- and middle-income citizens, the ministry said. Once completed, the project will be a “massive breakthrough” for a “huge” number of low- and middle-income people, it said.
