United Real Estate Company (URC), one of the MENA region’s leading real estate developers, was recognized as a supporter and sponsor of INJAZ-Kuwait’s Company Program during the program’s competition ceremony held on Saturday May 24, 2014.

This year, the INJAZ-Kuwait’s Company Program Competition was able to attract a total of 213 participants from private and government high schools and universities throughout Kuwait, twice as many as last year’s participants.

The Competition ceremony was held at Salwa Sabah Al Ahmad Hall, one of URC’s operational assets, and an extension of Marina Hotel. The evening started by introducing the student teams of the Company Program Competition, followed by recognizing the supporters of this program, and finally awarding the top ranking groups that were selected by the judges for their overall business proposals.

URC’s recognition was reflective of their role as a supporter of this program, both by granting their retail development, Marina Mall, as a platform for students to display their products/services, and by encouraging URC colleagues to volunteer as mentors for INJAZ-Kuwait’s Company Program. Receiving the award on behalf of URC was Assistant Vice President of Marketing & Corporate Communications, Ala’a Ali-Reda.

URC’s Executive Vice President, Renimah Al Mattar, commented on URC’s partnership with INJAZ-Kuwait, saying, “We are proud to promote programs as such which mentor our youth to become the next generation of leaders in our society. Our corporate mission is to invest in the careers of our people and empower them to lead, as we believe that our success is dependent on their competencies and excellence. Furthermore, URC’s vision embraces a team-based approach and fosters communication, which are in-line with the experiences that participants gain from this program. URC’s involvement in this initiative meets our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy which supports long-term sustainable programs in areas of the arts, culture, education and design.”

URC’s Chief Executive Officer, Engineer Mohammed Ahmed Al Saqqaf, who was also one of the volunteers for INJAZ-Kuwait’s Program said, “URC is a strong believer of sustainable programs that have a positive impact on our youth and society as a whole. The program allows our youth to be mentored by experienced individuals in our society who dedicate their time and effort to guide students in exploring positive change.”

INJAZ-Kuwait’s Company Program was established in 2005 with 305 students and has grown to reach 2,957 students since. The initiative connects corporate volunteers with students in middle school, high school and university levels. The program aims to provide students with knowledge and experience that will assist them in their personal and career development.
