Abu Dhabi market rises in lockstep with Dubai bourse

Like the Dubai market DFM, the Abu Dhabi market index ADXGI closed 0.45 per cent higher at 5,108.75 points on Wednesday, April 16. Eshraq Properties and Aldar Properties were the most liquid shares and gained 5.24 per cent and 1.95 per cent, respectively. Ras al-Khaima Properties closed even. Abu Dhabi Ship Building lost the most, finishing 5.03 per cent lower at AED3.59. The shares of Abu Dhabi National Energy Company, also known as TAQA, surged by 2.44 per cent to AED1.26. Earlier in the day, TAQA said the quorum for an extraordinary general meeting on April 15 was not met and that the next EGM would be held on April 22.
