Al Ghubrah Power and Desalination Company highlights its employees
In its commitment to support and highlight the effective role of its employees in the company, Al Ghubrah Power & Desalination Company (GPDCo) has launched an employee focused program called “Tahfeez” since 2013, the program aims to promote the company’s employees for their initiation in providing the best effort, work and commitment.
“Tahfeez” focuses on the employees and follows their productivity on a monthly basis through the supervision and nomination of their direct managers, those who have shown commitments to the value of work, positive influence on the organization and their fellow employees will be highlighted as the most valuable employee of the month.
The head of the supervising committee of the “Tahfeez” program, Ahmad Al Balushi, stated that the mechanic behind the success of the program is that responsibility of the direct managers to nominate qualifying applicants, as well as the eligibility of employees belonging to all the departments within GPDCo through the nomination form which is handed to the evaluation committee. The committee evaluates all the nominations performance for that month and the most valuable employee of the month is selected through a voting system.
One of the winners of the “Tahfeez” program, Salim Al Shiyadi, stated that a big part of why he felt that the program was a success was not just the financial reward of the program; but the supportive nature of the program, as it showcases the hard work, commitment and effort by the employee to benefit the company. He also stated that due to the program, he has seen the competitive and proud nature within GPDCo grow substantially.
