London, New York, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Dubai – its an impressive list featuring the who’s who of private clubs in major business cities around the world. And it’s titled ’10 of the world’s most exclusive members clubs’.

For the relatively young Capital Club Dubai, the inclusion in the CNN report is a great feather in its cap. Based in the prestigious Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), the dynamic Club has, since its opening in 2008, fast become the region’s premier City Club, serving not just Dubai’s business community but neighbouring Gulf countries and further afield.

General Manager Emma Cullen, who’s been leading the Club’s march in solidifying its regional position, commented, “We are absolutely thrilled to be recognised. To be placed alongside some of the world’s best names in the private club business, demonstrates the Middle East’s strong development in the world of business. It is also a testament to the changing and successful private club landscape – and to the efforts of our team, stakeholders and most importantly, the 1,500 Members who have given the Club its edge.”

Capital Club Dubai is majority owned by Signature Clubs International, a member of the ENSHAA group of companies. The developer and operator of the Capital Club brand, SCI’s portfolio includes other clubs in Bahrain and Nairobi, with upcoming initiatives planned in MENASA, Europe and the US, as part of a major five-year global roll out programme.

SCI CEO Russell Matcham added, “Inclusion in this elite list is a great vote of confidence not just for the Club but for Dubai as a major business hub, as all great cities have great private business clubs. As the UAE readies itself for an exciting development phase in the lead up to 2020, we have a tremendous opportunity to align ourselves with a growth that promises to be good for the entire region. As one of the Middle East’s most successful homegrown hospitality brands, SCI is well positioned to execute its expansion plans now and to venture into new territories.”

The Capital Clubs are premier members-only clubs set in the heart of financial centres and districts. They are contemporary, lively, and content driven with Members enjoying social and business events covering emerging trends in arts, culture, media, social development, cuisine, business and travel. The Clubs are connected to over 250 private clubs around the world as part of their reciprocal club network.
