CBFS conducts IFRS training course with ICAI

The College of Banking and Financial Studies (CBFS) recently conducted a preparatory training course for the ‘International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)’ Certification examination of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI)

The course was conducted in collaboration with the Muscat Chapter of ICAI (which is under the sponsorship of CBFS) at the College premises in Bausher, and was facilitated by various IFRS experts of ICAI from India and UAE.

The training was held on 7 consecutive Saturdays between January 18 and March 1, 2014 and was followed by 2 intensive review sessions on May 17 and May 24, 2014 , preceding the examination held on June 14, 2014.

The training was attended by 30 participants, of whom 19 are members of ICAI and 11 are non members (including 8 Omanis). While members would be eligible to take the examination and be awarded a Certificate of Completion upon passing the examination, non members would be eligible to be awarded a certificate of participation for having attended the training.
