Dr. Fakhro honors trainees of entrepreneurs program

Industry and Commerce Minister Dr. Hassan Fakhro confirmed Kingdom’s keenness to support entrepreneurs and programs that contribute to enhance small and medium enterprises sector and provide all potentials and opportunities to develop this sector especially it has become today on of the most important economic sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

This came during a graduation ceremony that was held under the auspices of Industry and Commerce Minister Dr. Hassan Fakhro who honored 50 trainees of entrepreneurs program. The program is organized by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.

During the Ceremony, Dr. Fakhro delivered stating that these programs stems from the strategy and Bahrain Economic Vision 2030, which is focus on young people to train and rehabilitate them through government programs.

Dr. Fakhro added, “Entrepreneurship programs carried out by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce in collaboration with the “UNIDO” resulted in providing more job opportunities for young people and reduces unemployment. It also encourages young people constantly on the go to private business to create more economic projects with a value-added national economy.”

In this context, the Minister praised the distinct relationship that binds the Ministry with United Nations Industrial Development “UNIDO”, which is a target pilot project of small and medium enterprises to become competitive in both global and domestic level.

The Minister noted, “Bahraini Arab Model reaches east and west, south and north of this world. The total number of Entrepreneurship programs organized of this model during the period from 2001 until today is 87 programs with more than 5000 graduates.”
