GCC corporate sukuk issuances down substantially in March: KFH

Kuwait Finance House (KFH) has said March has witnessed the highest volume of sukuk issuances for the global sukuk market in 2014, with total sukuk issuances amounting to $11.2bn, up 23% over the figure posted in the previous month, Kuna has reported. However, a substantial decline was recorded in corporate sukuk issuances during the month, with only $1.45bn worth of issuances, compared with $2.54bn in February and $1.72bn in January. The decline was mainly due to a noticeable absence of issuers from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), KFH said in its report.
