The German Ambassador in Cairo visits E-Finance headquarters in Smart Village

Hansjörg Haber,German Ambassador in Cairo commended the technological development level which Egypt has reached in the field of e-payments and collection.This came during his visit to the headquarters of e-Finance, a leading company in the field of electronic payments.

During his visit, Mr. Hansjörg Haber and the his accompanying delegation – which included Mr. Hans Christian Mangesldorf, Head of the Economic Unit at the German Embassy and Ms. Mona Francis, PR Manager For Smart Villages company – inspected different sectors of the company and listened to a presentation made by Eng. Ibrahim Sarhan, e-Finance chairman. The presentation was about the company’s activities and how it was established more than nine years ago. He was also briefed about national projects which involve e-Finance.

The German ambassador was very happy to visit the center for issuing cards in Smart Village. He also confirmed that the company is progressing well in this field and expressed his appreciation for the work which has been done during the past period. He stressed on the depth of Egyptian-German relations and the possibility of cooperation in the field of smart cards as well as the transfer of Germantechnologies andexpertise to Egypt. This comes to support and document the German-Egyptian relations in various fields of cooperation between the two countries.

Eng. Ibrahim Sarhan, e-Finance Chairman expressed his happiness with this visit, affirming that e-Finance is the biggest operator of electronic payments systems in Egypt and the Middle East. E-Finance has 600 employees distributed among 20 provinces.
Sarhan showcased projects made by the company recently, especially the project of subsidizing petroleummaterials and pension smart cards. He pointed out that e-Finance has good relations with the German companyXceed which works in the smart cards field. He stressed that this visit came within the context of the company’s leading role in the government payment and electronic payments.
