Jafza, the region’s premier Free Zone under Economic Zones World hosted a suhoor gathering for its customers last night as part of its regular networking exercise.

Customer-oriented events are held regularly by Jafza to provide an opportunity to customers to network amongst themselves, and create synergies for mutual benefit and growth.

Welcoming the guests, Mr. Hisham Al Shirawi, Chairman of Economic Zones World called for a brief moment of silence over the loss of innocent lives in Gaza. He also spoke about the virtues of Ramadan, and the true essence of fasting.

Ibrahim Mohamed Al Janahi, Deputy CEO of Jafza and Chief Commercial Officer of Economic Zones World briefed the audience on the developments at Jafza since the last customer gathering at the Jafza Annual Gala in March this year.

Speaking about the event, Al Janahi, said, “Customer-oriented events such as this suhoor gathering are a vital part of our relationship management exercise. In addition to the networking opportunity these events provide to the customers, these events are an occasion for Jafza to gain first-hand knowledge about customers, their businesses requirements, and their plans. This helps us ensure that our plans and developments are in place to augment the plans of our customers.”

There have been a number of major developments in the second quarter of the year. Especially noteworthy are efforts made by Jafza in collaboration with port operator DP World, to ease the flow of traffic within the Zone, with the opening of a 16-lane Gate and a flyover on the main boulevard in the North Zone. Jafza was also recognized as the best Free Zone for Multinational companies by Financial Times’ FDi Magazine, and in keeping with its pursuit of excellence, Jafza was granted the 7th renewal of the its ISO 9001:2008 certification, which was first obtained in 1996, a first for any Free Zone.

A light-hearted but informative talk by Mr. Nasif Kayed, the managing director of the Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Centre for Cultural Understanding followed, with Mr. Kayed extolling the virtues of Ramadan and fasting, life in the UAE and public decency.
