NCSI, ITA officials meet to discuss mutual cooperation

His Excellency Dr Khalifa bin Abdullah Al-Barwani – the CEO of the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) met with D. Salim bin Sultan Al-Ruzaiqi – the CEO of the Information Technology Authority (ITA) on Sunday 16th February at Knowledge Oasis Muscat. A number of senior officials from both organisations were present during the meeting.

Commenting on the importance of aligning all efforts towards the common goal of sharing knowledge and information between Government entities for the future development of the Sultanate, HE D. Khalifa Al-Barwani noted, “The NCSI and ITA both use sophisticated data management programs and modern systems aiming at developing the level and value of information to provide informed outcomes. Meetings such as this provide us with a forum for productive discussion, and allow everyone to activate areas of cooperation between the technical officials and administrators of both organisations, in order to effectively develop the e-government capability.”

During the meeting senior officials from NCSI and the ITA discussed ways of upgrading systems and programs used in both organisations in order to enhance mutual efforts of enhancing the e-government capability in the Sultanate. The meeting followed a number of high level discussions already held by the NCSI with different Government bodies with the aim of enhancing and aligning different information systems, programs and applications for the public interest.
