New Water Campaign for Syrian Refugees launches in UAE

Through the Price of Water campaign, bottled water Arwa, a Coca-Cola Middle East product, asks UAE residents to pay what they think water is worth. With the support of Choithrams supermarket, bottled water was cleared from the shelves as shoppers were asked to question how much they value water, especially when they need it most.

Arwa water was given for free and in return shoppers were urged to donate money to support Arwa’s partners, The UAE Red Crescent and Mercy Corps, as they work to provide safe, clean water to Syrian refugee children in Jordan. Currently, over 2.8 million Syrian refugees do not have access to the water they need to survive.

Burger King and Rotana TV Group are also supporting the initiative and asking consumers to donate to this worthy cause. Arwa water will be given away in all Burger King stores across the UAE in the coming weeks, as once again the public have a chance to donate.

Arwa is enabling the public to donate money to Red Crescent through their website or on Etisalat by texting “Arwa” to 6881 to donate 10 dirhams.
