OIFC meeting focuses on Bahrain-India trade ties

Discussions between Bahraini and Indian business leaders on bilateral trade and investment opportunities will be focus of key talks during the Overseas Indian Facilitation Centre’s (OIFC) meeting. Details on the establishment of the regional office of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in Bahrain will also be revealed during the meeting at the Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel, Residence and Spa on September 6, Indian Ambassador Dr Mohan Kumar told the Gulf Daily News (GDN). The OIFC is a public private partnership between the Indian government’s Overseas Indian Affairs Ministry and the CII. “We feel that the meeting will set the stage for partnership agreements, investment announcement, etc., that were initiated during and after His Majesty King Hamad’s visit to India in February this year,” he said. “The Overseas Diaspora Engagement Meet will specifically focus on sectors like agriculture, infrastructure, healthcare, medical tourism, real estate and pharmaceuticals. “The objectives are to acquaint the Indian community in Bahrain and nearby countries with the various investment opportunities in India,” he added.
