Works Minister receives Samsung Engineering

HE the Minister of Works Eng. Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf received at his office Samsung Engineering Chief Executive Mr. Mohammed Hamada and Project Manager Rayan Kang, on the occasion of the recent launch of Muharraq STP, which is the first project implemented in partnership with the private sector. Samsung Engineering presented the Minister with a commemorative shield for the project.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister welcomed the guests and commended their efforts in the project; hoping for further collaboration in future strategic projects. He also highlighted the positive outcome of the project, which has positively impacted the sanitary system throughout the Kingdom of Bahrain, by reducing the number of sanitary reports and complaints, solving citizens’ and residents’ discomfort resulting from bad odors, and easing pressure on Tubli STP.

The Minister also indicated the need to increase the amount of high quality treated sewage water, to be used for irrigation, landscaping and industrial purposes.

Muharraq STP Project is considered to be one of the most important strategic projects within the Ministry’s plan for decentralization of treatment plants. The project is also an example of collaboration between the government and private sectors; highlighting the Government’s support to such partnership.
