Range Rover unveils Autobiography range

Land Rover’s Range Rover brand is adding two new models to the Evoque crossover line. Coming to the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, the Evoque Autobiography and Autobiography Dynamic add extra horsepower and luxury onto the range.

The Autobiography name is introduced to the Land Rover Evoque for the first time with the new releases. The Autobiography is available with the Evoque’s 240hp petrol or 190hp diesel engines, together with the nine-speed ZF automatic transmission and four-wheel drive. The Autobiography Dynamic gets a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 285hp and 400nm of torque, together with a more performance-oriented nine-speed ZF transmission.

When it comes to new technology, the two modelswill feature Land Rover InControl Apps, which allows vehicle-optimizedsmartphone apps to be displayed and controlled with their original look and feel from the vehicle’s touchscreen.

Inside, the Autobiography is equipped with a luxurious leather interior in a selection of six colour palettes. Autobiography Dynamic customers can choose from a dynamic plus leather interior with either sports or premium climate seats, and a choice of four colours. Headrests feature an Autobiography embossed logo, while Autobiography illuminated tread plates greet passengers that open the door.

As for the exterior, the EvoqueAutobiography and Autobiography Dynamic get a new premium grille design, lower front valance, jewel-like headlights, tail lamps and 20-inch forged alloy wheels. Other noticeable novelties are the ingot badging on the tailgate and front fender vents, along with a new and striking premium metallic body colour called phoenix orange.

Active driveline is standard on all Range Rover Evoque models. A revolutionary driveline technology, active driveline is designed to improve traction, enhance agility, and improve fuel efficiency by engaging four-wheel drive seamlessly and automatically as required.

The Autobiography Dynamic gets upgraded 350mm front brake discs and torque vectoring by braking as standard.

The new Evoque models will certainly appeal to the same clientele as the Porsche’s Macan SUV.
