7th edition of World Arabian Horse Racing Conference opens in Italy

The 7th edition of the World Arabian Horse Racing Conference in Rome started on Wednesday and is part of the Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival.


The three-day event is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, deputy prime minister and minister of Presidential Affairs, and chairman for the Emirates Arabian Horse Association.


Senior delegate from Saudi Arabia and Oman are hosted during the event, along with others from Europe, North American and Africa. It brings together Arabian horse-racing experts from around the world to discuss securing the future of the sport.


At the conference, there was a dedicated discussion about the role of women in the sport, with views being shared from leading women in the field.


The World Arabian Horse Racing Conference 2016 is now in its seventh edition; previous locations for the event include Abu Dhabi, Amsterdam, Berlin, Toulouse and Warsaw.


The summit, which brings together more than 500 industry delegates, is sponsored by Dubai-based international airlines, Emirates. It is organised by the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage, in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and the Wathba Stud Farm in Normandy, France, which is also owned by His Highness Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
