Who are the winners of the Emirates Women Award 2018?

Under the theme “Wisdom, Goodness and Giving”, Dubai Quality Group (DQC) concludes the 15th Cycle of  Emirates Women Award 2018 (EWA).

EWA honored 12 winners; local and expatriate women achievers from diverse fields of business and technology, at Westin Dubai Al Habtoor City.

Recognizing & appreciating women

Emirates Women Award aims at recognizing & appreciating women in the UAE (both Nationals & Expatriates) for their outstanding contribution to the country.

In addition, the award is a motivator, that inspires and encourages the future generation of women to achieve their true potential by empowering their status in the society.

Fatma Buti Al Mheiri, the first woman chairman of DQG, said: “Women have made great accomplishments in various sectors [in the UAE]. They have held the highest executive leadership positions in public and private sectors. They have proven their ability to contribute effectively in social and economic development locally, regionally and globally.”

“The success of the Emirates Women’s Award since 2003 has been the result of the inevitable support of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the patron of the Award,” Buti Al Mheiri said.

“His encouragement & support to women of all nationalities in the UAE is a driving motivational factor for us over the years, to contribute in our way in promoting and celebrating the achievements of women in the UAE.”

“We feel delighted, honored and proud to announce that the number of applicants to the award is increasing every year. With 150 applications received, we have a 30% increase in participation to the award this year,” she added.

This year the participation reached 150 participants including 100 professionals and 50 businesswomen.

The winners were selected and verified by the prestigious EWA assessment jury after conforming to all criteria and conditions of the award.

The Jury & Assessors was headed by H.E. Marwan Al Sawaleh and Lieutenant Colonel. Salah Al Marzooqi, Chief Assessor.

The Sponsors who have extended support and honored are Dubai Electricity and Water Authority as main sponsor, British Orchard Nursery as platinum sponsor, ARJMST as Trophy Sponsor, Dubai Media Inc. as Strategic Media Partner and Press Sector of Dubai Media Inc as Media Partner.

The participants were judged based on their leadership skills, strategic and financial planning, career achievements, community contribution and innovation.

The award was drawn into two main categories: business owners and professionals.
