Bulgari Octo Ultranero range: sporty elegance
Right from its origins, the Bulgari Octo range highlights a clean-cut style of watches at the Italian luxury house.
“Ultranero lends even more strength and contemporary power to the Octo watch. Its impact, both visually and on the imagination, is immediate and striking,” Guido Terreni, managing director of the Bulgari Watch Division, said in a statement.
According to him, although the Ultranero has a sporty look and feel to it, its beauty is as crucial.
“Beauty is as important as strength, so it allows itself a touch of gold, because gold is a signature of luxury,” Terrani added.
The iconic Italian brand introduced new editions to the Ultranero range earlier this year, showcasing new, captivating and stylish models.
This is the most basic Octo model of all, only delivering the time through its three hands – hour, minute and second. However, its sleek design and catching colour make it one of interest.
The case of the Ultranero watches is 110-facetted in black D.L.C. coating, in a structure that derives inspiration from Italian sports-cars.
The Octo range has added the pink gold touch to the timepieces, bringing light to the deep black hue that identifies the Octo Ultranero.
The watches are now available in an all-black D.L.C.-coated, steel-fitted case with black rubber straps, which is only lit up by the pink gold hour markers and crown, or another similar interpretation with the addition of a pink-gold case.
Octo Ultranero Finissimo Tourbillon
The Octo Ultranero Finissimo Tourbillon is a record-breaker, as it houses the world’s thinnest mechanical tourbillon movement, the Bulgari BVL 268 Finissimo calibre.
This calibre broke world records when it was first introduced in 2014 – records that remain unbroken today.
The artistic element and heart of the watch is located at six o’clock, featuring a flying tourbillon measuring only 1.95 mm in thickness, which can be seen very clearly on the 41mm diameter case.
The tourbillon models are powered by the Solotempo BVL 193 calibre, dedicated to measuring time on the mechanical wristwatch. The twin-barrel movement on the watch allows it a power reserve of 50 hours.
Octo Velocissimo Chronograph
This watch is powered by the calibre BVL 328, allowing it a 50-hour reserve. The caliber can be viewed through sapphire glass on the back of the case.
The black-rubber strap grants this piece a place among the sportier models, despite housing its sophisticated movement and pink gold elements.
The case of the chronograph model is 41mm wide, a size that comfortably highlights the intricate design details and movement layout on the black lacquer dial, and comfortably sits on a confident man’s wrist without looking too big or bulky.
