In the market to snap up a bargain? Savvy shoppers considering a trip to Dubai for the final week of Dubai Shopping Festival could save on more than just their cut-price shopping by taking advantage of the lower rates available at some of the city’s finest hotels.

According to preliminary data released this month by analysts from global travel research company STR, despite a surge in visitor numbers to Dubai, many hotels across the city have been enticing guests with lower rates, with further data from Skyscanner revealing that the average booking price per night for a room in a 5* hotel in Dubai has decreased year on year from 2017-2018 by over 10%.

Skyscanner revealed a dip from an average Dhs903 ($246) per night in 2017 to around Dhs836 ($228) in 2018. Savvy KSA travelers have taken advantage of these rate reductions as Skyscanner figures indicate a year-on-year increase of 24% in travelers exiting on flights from KSA to Dubai in the 6 months prior to Dubai Shopping Festival, and a year-on-year increase of 17% in travelers exiting on flights from KSA to Dubai for the DSF time period in the first 2 weeks of the festival.

As 5* hotel prices remain at a deflated rate throughout January and February, smart Saudi shoppers once again have the chance to make the most of these significant travel savings whilst enjoying the exceptional discounts on offer at Dubai Shopping Festival, which takes place at malls across the city, and runs until February 2, 2019.
