TAG Heuer unveils Formula 1 models
Swiss watchmaker TAG Heuer, part of LVMG Group, became the official timekeeper and official watch of the Formula 1 Red Bull Racing Team last December.
TAG Heuer is also now included in the official name of the team’s 2016 racing car, the “Red Bull Racing – TAG Heuer RB12”. TAG Heuer’s has also become part of the team’s official title.
Both references have diameters measuring 43mm, with cases made from polished and brushed steel. Both have blue dials and a matte blue aluminum bezel, on which there is a silver-plated tachometer scale. They are available with a steel bracelet or a strap made from technical textile.
They use the Ronda 5040D Quartz chronograph movement with a date window at four o’clock.
The dial comes in blue with three white counters: a 1/10 second counter with a chronograph house counter at six o’clock, a chronograph minute counter at nine o’clock and a current seconds counter at three o’clock.
The dials facets, including the hour and minute hands, are polished with luminescent markers.
The straps are available in triple-row brushed steel with a brushed steel strap, or a blue strap made from technical textile with red stitching that is inspired by the race cars’ seat-belts.
The Formula 1 Red Bull models will be on sale worldwide from this August, with a price of approximately AED5,460 for the nato strap and 6,045 for the steel bracelet. The collection is limited but is not numbered.
