Startup MGZN

A new year and new direction for “Startup Bahrain”, three years since it launched its monthly digital publication, now known as “Startup MGZN” as it takes the project to a new level, focusing on the MENA region’s startups, entrepreneurs, their successes & challenges alongside a new re-imagined app for iOS & Android built from the ground up revealing its vision for the future of digital publishing through real-time continuous publishing.

Startup Bahrain, the region’s first independent, Bahrain-based and award-winning digital publication and startup community, published 34 issues as of today containing exclusive interviews with H.R.H. Prince Khaled bin Alwaleed bin Talal, H.E. Sh. Mohammed bin Essa, Tamkeen Bahrain’s Chairman, Talabat’s Mohammed Jaffar, 500 Startups’s Dave McClure, and many more. The publication also introduced its Arabic version a little while back and has tens of thousands of readers from over 30+ countries.

Startup MGZN will align itself through strategic partnerships with regional partners to help facilitate this growth, building on its relationships with its existing strategic partnerships in the Kingdom of Bahrain that include Tamkeen Bahrain, Zain Bahrain, and the Bahrain Development Bank.

“This region needs to produce content as much as it consumes, and we need to lead the way in the digital efforts that enable that. Startup Bahrain has grown to be an essential resource and community for Bahraini entrepreneurs and we aim to make it so for our neighbours in the region,” Ahmed Al-Sawafiri added, the project’s founder.

“Startup MGZN reduces friction by showing content almost instantaneously rather than finding, downloading an issue, then swiping to the desired content. Now, content is immediate, free of barriers, it’s there as soon as you launch the app. It’s a content-first experience,” told us Bader Kamal, one of the project’s founders.
