The second phase of the youth entrepreneurship reality TV show “Al-Mohema” (The Mission) commenced at Al-Areen Palace & Spa, following the end of the registration period.

The second phase included oral and written assessment tests for the applicants, who are comprised of Bahraini nationals between 18 and 30 years old as per the competition rules. The applicants were then shortlisted to 90 contestants who will attend a number of business training workshops and lectures on entrepreneurship and setting up a business. A series of lectures and training workshops will be presented to the contestants at the Bahrain Credit Media Center at the University of Bahrain.

Following that, the 90 contestants will be further shortlisted to 14 finalists who will compete for the grand prize in the final stage, which involves unique challenges through which the finalists will prove their abilities in coming up with business solutions. The final stage will be broadcast on Bahrain TV, giving viewers a unique opportunity to follow the finalists as they go about completing their tasks.

Al-Mohema is a joint initiative between Tamkeen and the Information Affairs Authority (IAA), and seeks to hone Bahrainis’ skills and promote the entrepreneurial spirit amongst Bahraini youth.

The overall winner, determined by a panel of leading judges, will receive a grand prize of BD10,000 to help establish his or her own business, and will have the opportunity to benefit from Tamkeen’s business development and support programmes.
