Bahrain’s High Authority for Information and Communication has recommended stopping the broadcasting of ‘offensive channels’ based in the kingdom, due to their violation of the kingdom’s laws in the stories covered, and failure to commit to the sovereignty and legal norms, Gulf Daily News has reported. The authority also recommended the immediate setting up of a high investigation committee to inquire into licences granted to these channels and to determine whether they were given according to the law. The regulatory body did not disclose the names of the channels.
