Mozilla Foundation, the non-profit organisation that funds the development of Firefox, has defended the decision to include ads in the upcoming versions of the web browsing software, saying it’s important to generate revenue, PC World has reported. “To explicitly address the question of whether we care about generating revenue and sustaining Mozilla’s work, the answer is yes,” Mitchell Baker, former CEO of Mozilla, the subsidiary responsible for Firefox, and the current chair of the parent foundation, wrote on a blog. “In fact, many of us feel responsible to do exactly this.”
