People of UAE truly love their family, travel and hobbies, says Zurich’s social media survey

Family, travel and hobbies are rated as the most loved things in the lives of people living in the UAE, according to the results of the #Trulylove social media survey launched by global insurer Zurich International Life.

More than 23,000 people engaged with the question ‘What do you truly love?’ on the #Trulylove social media survey and posted and shared photos of something that they felt passionately about on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram together with a caption and the hashtag #Trulylove.

The survey found that more than a third of UAE residents truly love their family, followed by their hobbies (14%) and travel (14%). Posts included photos of family and friends, electronic items, cars, favorite holiday snaps, famous movie stars and hobby-related photos such as golf, sailing, cycling and even skydiving. As well as providing insights into the passions of the UAE, the #Trulylove survey also raised funds for the Manzil Center for Children with Special Needs. For every post, Zurich and its partner RAKBANK each donated AED 5 to the Sharjah-based special needs center.

The most ‘shared’ photo was of His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the First President of the UAE, with the caption: “Our beloved ruler, leader and father of the nation”.

The campaign helped people to make that connection- between what they love and the need to protect it.”

Dr Ayesha Saeed Husaini, founder of Manzil Center, commented: “We were delighted that our long term partner Zurich devised this new social media campaign to support the upkeep of our center while also reminding people of what matters most to them.”

Banali Malhotra, RAKBANK Head of Marketing, said: “We are pleased to have used our strong presence on social media to support Zurich in contributing towards a worthy cause.
