Twitter testing new mute feature

Twitter is experimenting with an option to allow users of the online social microblogging service to mute an account, PC World has reported. Muting is said to be among the most popular features in Tweetdeck, the business-class Twitter client that the company acquired in 2011. With the new feature, users would not need to read the tweets and re-tweets of a friend, and can remain followers of that friend.
