Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) has been named the best Islamic bank in the Middle East and best Islamic bank in the UAE by Euromoney magazine.

Now in their thirteenth year, the Euromoney Magazine Awards are widely regarded as a benchmark for the global finance industry. ADIB was announced as the winner of the two awards at a ceremony in London.

ADIB’s Chief Executive Officer, Tirad Al Mahmoud, said the award was recognition of the bank’s focus on customer service, underpinned by a strong set of traditional Islamic banking rules.

“ADIB is a progressive and ethical bank that is continually developing new products and services. I am very pleased that our efforts have been recognized by a respected publication such as Euromoney magazine,” Al Mahmoud said.

“2013 was a very successful year. We increased our customer base by 14 percent and have remained the number one bank for customer service for three years in a row. Our ethical banking philosophy and transparency of our offerings is attractive to Muslims and non-Muslims alike.

ADIB has the third largest retail network in the UAE with a total of 77 branches and more planned. The bank also has operations in Egypt, Qatar, Iraq, Sudan and the United Kingdom.
