Commercial Bank, one of the leading full service banks in Qatar, this week proudly celebrated the 3rd Annual National Sports Day with a wide range of fun packed activities organised for employees and their families at various venues around Doha. To share the celebrations with all members of Qatari society, volunteers from the Bank distributed special National Sports Day gifts at:

• The children’s floor at Hamad Hospital
• The Qatar Central Bank (QCB) tent at the QCB Marathon on the Corniche

Free giveaways were also distributed to customers and children at Commercial Bank branches across Qatar.

In the spirit of encouraging participation in sports and physical activities, Commercial Bank staff took part in a variety of competitive and non-competitive events including a cricket match, football match and a table tennis competition where the Bank’s employees had the opportunity to showcase their sporting talents. Commercial Bank was a sponsor of the QCB Marathon and many staff from the Bank also took part in the 3 km race along the Doha Corniche. To encourage health and well-being, a diet stand was created at Commercial Bank Plaza and the Bank’s Grand Hamad branch, where staff were educated about the importance of leading more active and healthy lifestyles and given healthy food packs.

Commercial Bank’s CEO Mr Abdulla Saleh Al Raisi said: “Commercial Bank is a proud supporter of National Sports Day under the wise leadership of His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. Commercial Bank is committed to empowering Qatari community initiatives and to celebrate National Sports Day, we are sharing the joy with the future generation of Qatar. I also wish to congratulate all the Commercial Bank staff who took part in sports matches this National Sports Day and those who ran in the QCB marathon.”

He added, “Participation in sport is an important area of focus for human development in the Qatar National Vision 2030 as the country continues to attract international sporting events and invests in the development of its own, home-grown sportsmen and women. We at Commercial Bank are proud to do our part in enhancing Qatar’s international sporting reputation through sponsorship of various events from local community activities to international competitions.”
