Dubai Municipality bags Hariri Arab Award for Operation and Maintenance

The Sewerage & Irrigation Network Department of Dubai Municipality has bagged the Hariri Arab Award for Operation & Maintenance under the category of best operation system to preserve the environment in 2014.

The award is given by the Arab Institute of Operation & Maintenance in Beirut.

The Hariri Arab Award for Operations & Maintenance aims at supporting the right applications in executing operations & maintenance practices in the Arab region to help improve the standards of specialists & companies working in this field; encouraging initiatives and creativity in both the private and public sectors; highlighting & showing the new successful experiences in fortifying the importance of operation & maintenance and setting the examples of individual or institutional role models in operation & maintenance.

Eng. Hassan Mohamed Makki, director Sewerage & Irrigation Network Department, received the award in the opening ceremony of the 12th International Forum for operation and maintenance in Atlantis Hotel, Dubai.

‘The award comes to honour the civic body for its efforts and achievements in implementing technical programs, management, operation and maintenance of the sewage system and irrigation using the latest technology and craftsmanship and modern styles which embodies the concept of sustainability and preservation of the environment,’ Makki said.

The Hariri Award for Operation & Maintenance is the first Arab award dedicated to individuals, organizations and companies involved in the operation and maintenance. The award aims to promote the concept of good practices in the implementation of operation and maintenance to upgrade the performance of employees, and put up the successful experiences and situations to promote creativity in this field.

Makki also praised all employees of the department for their undying enthusiasm and efforts in bringing this honour to the civic body.
