Dubai Municipality honours outstanding suppliers

In bid to recogonise the efforts and cooperation of suppliers, the contracts and purchasing department of Dubai Municipality organized a honouring ceremony for the outstanding suppliers for the year 2014 in Radisson Blue Hotel, Dubai.

Having inaugurated the ceremony, Eng. Mohamed Abdul Karim Julfar, assistant director general of Dubai Municipality said that the civic body is proud to honour its best suppliers recogonising their hard work and continuous support to achieve municipality’s strategic vision as well as to fulfill the Dubai government’s dream to be the smartest government in the world.

‘The IT department and other concerned departments of DM have been jointly working hard to provide smart municipal services through its various applications such as iDubai, Plot Locator, Makani …etc. As of now, the municipality has transformed around 100 services to smart services and in coming three years 1,000 services are expected to go smart,’ Julfar said.

He praised the stable efforts of excellent suppliers by using and promoting DM’s smart services and having the spirit of creating an excellent city that provides essence of success and comfort of sustainable living. He also stressed the big role of private companies in supporting the government smart initiatives and thus making Dubai No.1 in everything as aspired by H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Eng. Abdul Hakim Malik, Director of GIS department has delivered a presentation on DM’s most significant smart applications and said that we are full of hope to get the complete cooperation from the private sector and the community members on achieving our long term goals.

Eng. Julfar , Obeid Al Shamsi and other senior officials have jointly given away the certificates and shields for the distinguished suppliers.
