Egyptian lenders report growth in November deposits

Egypt’s central bank has said that total deposits with banks in operating in the country rose risen by some EGP21bn to EGP1.26trn in November 2013, compared with EGP1.241trn in the previous month, Daily News Egypt has reported. The total of non-government deposits jumped to around EGP1.115trn during the month from EGP1.09trn in October, while total of government deposits stood at EGP147.1bn, of which EGP73.6bn are deposits in local currency and about EGP73.5bn are deposits in foreign currencies.
