Omani commercial banks report 12% rise in private deposits

Oman’s central bank has said the total value of private deposits with commercial banks in the sultanate, as of the end of January 2014 rose by 12.2% to OR10.2bn from OR9.09bn in the corresponding period a year earlier, Times of Oman has reported. The total includes OR3.3bn in time deposits, OR3.42bn in saving deposits and OR3.34bn in on-demand deposits.
