SDC participates in Qatar University’s training seminar

The Social Development Center (SDC) Manager of Projects and Investment, Mr. Munther AL Dawood, participated in a seminar regarding financing start-ups in Qatar. It took place on the April 9th, 2014 at Qatar University’s College of Business and Economics. The seminar targeted college students, faculty and staff as well as the owners of start-up projects in Doha.

Mr. Al-Dawood talked about the development of financing start-ups, where he defined these projects and divided them into three categories, according to their percentages in the Qatari market. He also identified the various funding programs and start-up sponsors in Qatar including the SDC’s Rasameel fund and services.

SDC’s Rasameel program provides entrepreneurs a capital fund to promote the establishment of new business ideas. In 2013, Rasameel provided loans to a total of 32 ambitious entrepreneurs during 2012-2013, and aims to offer 66 loans by 2016. The fund offers a range of support services that include; providing flexible financial loans without interest, guidance and counseling services, training services and marketing support for new projects.
Mr. Munther AL Dawood is a veteran in project management, investment and business development, Al-Dawood has over 24 years’ experience in consultancy and has a successful track record in team building, leadership and project management. He is widely experienced in small and medium sized businesses and entrepreneurial management and has in-depth experience in feasibility studies, varieties of industrial projects, investment and financial analysis, ISO systems and strategic planning. He is currently the Manager of Projects & Investment Department at the Social Development Center.
