The opening of SIB’s second branch in Abu Dhabi after the Electra Road branch brought the total number of SIB’s branches across the UAE to 28, while the number of SIB’s ATMs have also grown to 100, spanning across the mega shopping malls and other public and commercial facilities in the country.

Speaking on the occasion, HE Mohammed Abdullah, CEO of Sharjah Islamic Bank, said: “The move is in line with the growth of the banking sector, in general, and the Islamic banking, in particular, fuelled by recovery of all investment sectors. Through this branch, we aim to deliver banking services to the largest possible group of clients, particularly in the country’s industrial areas. Al Khalidiya branch is staffed with 16 highly qualified and skilled professionals who have experience in dealing with corporate and retail banking services.

HE Mohammed Omar, Undersecretary of Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (DED), said: “We are proud of the expansion made by Sharjah Islamic Bank in Abu Dhabi, as it is one of the Islamic banks which have a proven track record of successes and phenomenal growth in recent years, particularly the impressive win of the prestigious Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award in 2012, among many more awards and accolades on local, regional, and international levels. We wish them all the luck in their endeavours and hope they will maintain their growth and prosperity”.

Sharjah Islamic Bank’s Al Khalidiya branch offers a wide array of services for retail, corporate, and SMEs clients. The services include retail banking services, trade finance, and corporate finance in addition to transfer, withdrawal, and deposit services. The bank’s clients can leverage the various banking products available at the branch.

The branch features SIB’s fourth Priority Banking Centre, which operates under the umbrella of SIB’s Wealth Management Division and aims to facilitate the provision of banking services and products to the bank’s VIP clients while offering them a range of flexible, value-added services and a host of facilities, discounts, and promotions on various SIB’s banking products, as well as a number of privileges that are tailored to best serve the needs of this particular group of clients. SIB’s Priority Banking Centre is available, also, at the bank’s headquarters as well as at its branches in Sheikh Zayed Road and Buhaira Corniche.

The branch’s operations were adapted to cater to the needs of the clients who are working in government and private companies in Al Khalidiya – a district which is home to many financial and investment institutions. The branch’s working hours have been extended to enable those working in the surrounding companies to visit the branch to submit and/or track their applications after their duty. The bank intends to extend working hours further and to add more services to cater to the needs of various groups of clients.
