14th edition of Dubai World Dental Meeting launches

The fourteenth edition of Dubai World Dental Meeting was launched at the Novotel Hotel- Trade center with the participation of 11 international speakers and more than 250 dental professionals attending the specialized courses and training sessions that present the latest scientific and technological developments in numerous fields of dentistry.

The DWDM is an educational pre-conference meeting that contains an integrated scientific program about clinical topics in dentistry. It touches upon the latest clinical developments in dental practice and is always keen to display the most updated trends and tools used in this sphere. The DWDM is running prior to the UAE International Dental Conference and Arab Dental Exhibition – AEEDC Dubai in its 18th edition, which is held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and President of the Dubai Health Authority.

Various course types are taking place during DWDM 2014, these include a number of lectures, scientific sessions, and hands-on workshops delivered by industry leaders from every corner of the dental profession. DWDM will provide an outstanding opportunity for the dentistry professionals participating in the sessions to gain knowledge from opinion leaders of the dental community. The courses presented this year cover a variety of topics including: Endodontology, Restorative Dentistry, Dental Practice Growth, Paediatric Dentistry, Implantology, and Laser in dentistry.

Dr. Nasser Al Malik, Chairman of AEEDC Dubai Conference, said: “The dental field is in constant change, and dentists have to stay updated with all new technological and scientific advancements. In these pre-conference courses we try to deliver that to participants by providing them with the latest trends. The courses we choose in DWDM concentrate on the day to day dental skills and techniques required to provide better care. For example, laser have always been used in derma and plastic surgery, nowadays laser usage have been increasing in the field of dentistry and the safety of its usage has improved greatly, to put that in perspective we have selected experts in this field to introduce the new uses of laser and demonstrate different machines during the DWDM.”

The DWDM is proving its success and remarkable development every year through the increased level of participation which emphasizes the important role this event is playing in the field of dentistry, in terms of specialized courses and intensive workshops offered.

“Overall the DWDM courses target dental professionals’ specific area of interest whether he/she was a general dental practitioner or a specialist; DWDM will always emphasize on providing the latest concepts in the field of dentistry,” said Dr. Al Malik

The DWDM courses will continue until the 3rd of February with credit hours from the Dubai Health Authority and American Dental Association CERP.
